Avoid emptying, falling off, cracking! Tile paving attention to these 9 points.
Regardless of whether they buy tiles or sell tiles, there are not a few sales problems caused by hollowing, falling off, cracking, or angling. Many consumers feel that the quality of ceramic tiles is poor and that it is difficult for businesses to understand the importance of paving. What irregular pavings will make bad tiles appear bad?
1.Paving tiles without seams
Without seams more beautiful? You may experience tile arching, chipping, cracking, or even falling off .
Although the ceramic tile is a material with stable physical properties, the larger environmental changes will also cause the thermal expansion and contraction of the brick body. If the brick seams are too thin to allow the tiles to stretch, there will be empty drums and chipping angles between the tiles. Wall tiles are more likely to fall off.
In addition, tile joints can also reduce seams caused by tile size errors and manual handling errors.
2.Smear tile adhesive uneven
The correct method for applying tile adhesives should be on the horizontal base surface, and use a tooth scraper to evenly form the tile adhesive into a tooth-like layout.
However, many masters will use the wrong operation by hand: courier and squeegee in succession, and turns in turns at the turn. This method will lead to uneven teeth, uneven density, after laying tile adhesive and brick, wall bonding area becomes smaller, weaker adhesion.
3.Inappropriate proportion of cement mortar
On the one hand, it is necessary to correctly choose the cement label. The label is too small to produce enough sticky force and the label is too large. When the cement mortar is condensed, the exothermic heat of hydration causes the ceramic tile to crack. Secondly, the proportion of cement and sand mixed is also very important, and the wrong proportion will also affect the bonding effect.
4.No water soaking before paving
Before the paving tiles are not immersed in water or immersed enough, the humidity of the brick body is not enough and the water is not saturated, which may cause the tiles in the paving tiles to absorb the moisture in the cement mortar too much, and the adhesive strength of the cement mortar after being absorbed decreases, and the tiles are prone to problems.
Under normal circumstances, ceramic tiles (especially glazed tiles) should be soaked in water for more than 2 hours before paving, allowing the tiles to fully absorb water.
5.Yin Yang angle too close
The corners of the yin and yang are often used to grind the tiles. If they are handled improperly, the crack resistance of the edges of the tiles will be weakened, and porcelain and chipping angles will appear later.
In addition, the 45-degree angle of the tile at the corner of the corner is too tight, and there is not enough space left for it to be cracked due to thermal expansion and contraction.
6.Seams were not processed in time
Tile seams are easy to filth, in the bathroom, kitchen and other spaces may also cause dampness moldy due to excessive humidity, so be sure to perform brick seam processing in a timely manner.
After the tiles are laid, it is best to apply a grout beforehand evenly in the gap between the tile and the tile after 24 hours. If you have enough budget, you can also use US grout, better color and performance.
7.Pay attention to the direction of the paving
Some tile surface textures and patterns have strong connectivity, so it is best to paving in accordance with the square of the brick bottom logo to ensure that the pattern and color transition is natural and consistent.
8.Incomplete grassroots treatment
Before laying, the grass-roots level must be handled cleanly to ensure that all kinds of dirt and plaster are removed. Otherwise, the moisture of the cement mortar will be absorbed by dust and other deposits, and the tiles will not stick firmly.
On the day before the paving, it is best to wet the ground with water and control the humidity to 30-70%. The fully wetted wall base ensures that the mortar will solidify and bond the tiles.
In addition, whether the grass-roots level is smooth, whether the new wall surface has empty drum cracks, whether the waterproof layer is delaminated, etc., are all attention to detail.
9.Pay attention to the site gravel
If gravel remains on the tile, scratches are likely to occur after the foot is pressed, and sand gravel often appears on the construction site, so be sure to pay attention to the tile placement.
In addition, the paved tiles should also pay attention to protection (on the cardboard box), to avoid dragging heavy construction equipment, tools, scratches.
