Certification of Wall Tiles
The national standard GB6566-2001 "Limits for radionuclides in building materials" specifies the limits and test methods for natural radionuclides in construction materials: radium-226, thorium-232, potassium-40, and radioactive specific activity.
On August 1, 2005, China began mandatory radioactive detection of porcelain tiles with water absorption ≤ 0.5%. Tile manufacturers must pass this certification to allow product sales, the so-called 3c compulsory certification. Glazed tiles and square tiles have a water absorption rate of more than 0.5%, so they are not "3c" certified.
In the decoration materials, the radioactive specific activities of the natural radionuclides Ra-226, Ru-232, and K-40 satisfy the requirement of ira ≤ 1.0 (internal exposure index) and ir ≤ 1.3 (external exposure index) as a class a decoration material. Its production and use are not limited.
