Twenty common sense of tile laying (Part I)
1. Leave seam:
Tiles must be left seams, because the tiles under the influence of the environment will occur thermal expansion and contraction, brick seams can be avoided to avoid the adjacent tile extrusion and empty drum off. In addition, tile joints can also reduce uneven seams and unevenness caused by tile size errors and manual handling errors.
For tiles with obvious texture, in order to ensure the visual effect after paving, it is necessary to paving according to the direction of the arrow on the bottom of the tiles. Otherwise, the situation that the texture cannot be reached may occur, and unevenness may also be caused.
3.Soaking tile in water
The ceramic tile must be soaked in water to prevent the embedding body from sucking away the moisture in the cement mortar after laying and affecting the adhesive force. Before soaking in water for more than 2 hours before paving, bricks should not bubble, take out and dry for later use.
4.Clean back mortar
Tile factory is easy to form a layer of white powder on the back of the tile. This layer of powder will form a barrier layer when applied to affect the contact of cement mortar and brick, thereby reducing the bond strength. Therefore, it must be carefully handled before laying, if necessary, before and after the soaking can be scrubbed to ensure that the mortar no residue.
5.Bonding material to be uniform
Many masters will use the scraper to apply the scraper back and forth when applying the cement mortar (or tile adhesive). The turn of the curve is a sinuous turn. This is not correct, because the surface is not straight and uneven, which will lead to adhesive materials. The bonding area between the tile and the tile becomes smaller and the adhesive strength becomes weaker.
The correct approach should be: on the horizontal base surface, use a tooth scraper to evenly form the tile adhesive into a tooth-like layout.
6.Attention different shades.
The same type of tile, a different factory batch will have a certain color, the manufacturer will be divided into similar colors of the same color tiles. Workers pay attention to the color number when paving, it will lead to obvious color difference of adjacent tiles.
In addition, some homeowners did not calculate the quantity when purchasing ceramic tiles, which led to the need for additional purchases later. If you do not pay attention to selecting products with the same batch number and color number as the original product, slight color differences may also occur.
After the tile is finished, it is best to perform jointing treatment after 24 hours, and use a pre-adjusted grout evenly in the gap between the tile and the tile.
For the sake of beauty, if you have enough budget, you can also use the US Grout, with better color and performance.
Yang angle is a convex angle formed by two walls. Generally, chamfering is used when laying ceramic tiles. That is, tiles are trimmed at the back of the tile to form a 90-degree angle, and the angle is wrapped.
Those bricklayers who do not have a strong sense of responsibility may directly use tiles to deal with bricks in order to save money. This kind of brickwork is directly exposed and not attractive. If you want to make construction easier, you can also use the sun horn.
Gravity designs that are not sloped or drained are all wrong. For example, in the middle of the tile directly open inlay.
The correct course of action should be: Diagonally cut the tiles into four pieces. When the tiles are laid, the tiles around the floor drain will form a groove at a certain inclination. The floor drain will be embedded in the center.
Tiles that are applied to wet areas such as kitchens and bathrooms need to pay attention to water absorption. If the tile has a high water absorption rate, yellowing and chromatic aberration may occur due to excessive water intake after paving.
